Kenya dissociates with claims of interfering with DRC affairs

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has dissociated with claims that Kenya is interfering with the internal affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Mudavadi said that Kenya is an open and Democratic state where freedom of press is Vouchsafed.

However, he noted that national and non- nationals can engage the Kenyan Media without reference to the government.

” The ministry of foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the republic of Kenya refers to press reports that some nationals of DRC claiming association with rebel groups within DRC addressed a press conference in Nairobi.”

“They made a statement that are prima facie inimical to the constitutional order of DRC,” Mudavadi stated in a statement.

Mudavadi however said Kenya has dissociated itself from any utterances or activities likely to injure the peace and security of the DRC.

Investigation has commenced of the makers of the statement .

” Government will check the extent to which their utterances fall outside constitutionally protected speech,” Mudavadi said in a statement.

He further affirmed that Kenya it’s non involvement in the internal affairs of DRC and commits to continue supporting the peace,security ,and Democratic Consolidation of the country.
