Four people die of Tragic road accident

Four people have lost their lives today at around 0500 hours.

The accident  involved a matatu and a 60- seater bus at Hill Tea Area.

The matatu, which was carrying 16 passengers, lost control and caused the collision.
However, the driver and three passengers died instantly at the scene.
Nine other sustained serious injuries where are  receiving treatment at Eldama Ravine Sub-County Referral Hospital.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to the same facility.
Therefore,the National Police Service is urging all motorists and road users to exercise extreme caution, particularly during this rainy season.
“We urge motorists and all other road users to exercise extreme caution while on the roads especially during this rainy season,”police said in a statement.
In another tragic accident just two days prior, on December 16, a matatu lost control and plunged into a ditch in Kikima, Makueni County.
The accident claimed the lives of 12 people.
Two more individuals succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment on December 17.
 Currently, six people are still undergoing treatment at Makueni County Referral Hospital in Wote town.
The 14-seater matatu was traveling from Kikima Township to Machakos Town when its brakes failed at around 6pm.
Ten people died at the accident scene, while seven were initially taken to Mbooni Hospital before being transferred to Makueni County Referral Hospital.
