Police in Siaya arrested a wanted criminal gang member.
The suspect, Hastings Omondi Odipo, is linked to the stabbing death of a police officer.
Omondi was on the run but was caught through a tip- off from the public.
However,He and his associates robbed the officer of his rifle and that of a colleague.
The incident happened while they were escorting examination papers to Mahero Secondary School.
The police had published names and photos of Omondi and his associates, asking for information on their whereabouts.
Omondi was found hiding in Usenge Village and is now held at Lwala Kotieno Police Station.
The police are urging the rest of the gang members to surrender.
