Tufuzu na Elimu program awards scholarships to 352 students

Tufuzu na Elimu, a programme by The Family Group Foundation, has awarded scholarships to 352 bright students from vulnerable households.

With a budget of Ksh 90 million, the programme aims to support students entering high school this year.

Therefore,the scholarships cover tuition fees, school uniforms, and boarding fees for students from 34 counties and 66 constituencies.

In addition to financial assistance, the scholarship beneficiaries will receive soft-skills training through mentorship workshops and academic boot camps.

The commissioning event, attended by key  leaders in education and finance, highlighted the importance of providing equal access to quality education.

Among the attendees were Elyas Abdi Jillaow, the Director General of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Wilfred Kiboro, the Chairman of Family Bank, Nancy Njau, the CEO Designate, and Dr. Francis Muraya, the Board Chairman of The Family Group Foundation.

Speaking in  the event, Nancy Njau, the CEO Designate of Family Bank, emphasized the program’s impact over the past 12 years.

She stated that the Tufuzu na Elimu programme has already benefited over 1200 students nationwide-

and has invested over KES 300 million in the education sector.

“Over the last 12 years, we have been intentional in ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all by impacting the very society we operate in.”

“Through the Tufuzu na Elimu programme, we have impacted more than 1200 beneficiaries countrywide and invested over Ksh 300 million in the education sector”, said Family Bank CEO Designate Nancy Njau.

This initiative by The Family Group Foundation reflects their commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable education.

By providing financial support and skills training, they are empowering students from vulnerable backgrounds to pursue their academic aspirations.

The scholarships awarded by Tufuzu na Elimu will not only alleviate the financial burden on families but also provide opportunities for these students to thrive academically.

Through mentorship workshops and academic boot camps, they will gain valuable skills and knowledge to succeed in their educational journey.

However,with this investment in education, The Family Group Foundation is making a significant contribution towards creating a more educated and prosperous society.

By enabling these bright students to access quality education, they are paving the way for a brighter future for both the students and the communities they come from.
