New CCTV footage has revealed shocking details about the tragic incident in Kasarani, where a 19-year-old woman fell from the 10th floor of an apartment.
The footage shows that the woman entered the short-term rental with a man at 3:00 am on Sunday.
The man, wearing a white t-shirt with black stripes, black trousers, and white sneakers, led the way.
The woman, dressed in a pink top, white trousers, and carrying a grey sweater, followed him.
Interestingly, upon arriving at the apartment, the man initially turned in the wrong direction before finding the correct apartment.
He opened the door, woman entered first, followed by the man.
Tragically, witnesses heard a loud noise and rushed to the scene,
only to find the woman fatally injured from the fall.
Investigations by the police have taken a disturbing turn.
The man, who was found unconscious with eight stab wounds, is now considered the main suspect.
The woman’s body, however, did not show any signs of stab wounds,
leading detectives to believe that she was either pushed or jumped.
The police are now searching for three other suspects who were in contact with the woman prior to the incident.
It has been discovered that the two met at a nightclub before heading to the apartment.
They briefly left for another club but returned around 3:00 am.
Disturbing photos from the apartment reveal blood splattered in both the living room and the bathroom.
To preserve the integrity of the crime scene, the police restricted public access to the building.
These incidents are part of a concerning trend.
Femicide Count Kenya reported that ten women were killed in January 2024 alone, highlighting the urgent need for action.
In total, 504 women lost their lives between 2019 and 2024.
This has prompted lobby groups to call on the government to declare femicide a national emergency and include it in the penal code.
As investigations continue,
The community mourns the loss of yet another young woman and demands justice for these senseless acts of violence.
