417 stolen mobile phones recovered,suspects arrested

A- 32- year -old Man arrested in connection to over 417 stolen mobile phones in Nyeri.

This followed an interrogation of two young men who were earlier arrested after they were arrested while snatching mobile phones from shoppers in Gatitu,Nyeri.

John Kariuki and James Thuita were apprehended on November 1, before detectives proceeded to Gatito shopping center.

This followed the arrest of their accomplice David Thinwa Ngatia who operates a mobile phones repair shop.

He was ambushed  detectives recovering the stolen phones.

Other items found stashed in his business included two TV sets ,three laptops,two Cameras,47 mobile subscriber sim cards,a HP printer among others.

Detectives recovered them and are as exhibits.

However,Nyeri security command has warn against a surge in pick pockets who were interested in smartphones.

They have assured the public that whatever cartels are involved are in police radar who will soon be arrested.
