Change of Half-Term Dates for Schools in Kenya

In response to the disruption of the opening dates, the Ministry of Education has announced a revision of the Half-Term dates for Term Two, 2024.

The original dates, which were scheduled for 20th to 23rd June, 2024, have been changed.

However,they now take the break from June 26 to 28,2024.

All learners in boarding schools are now expected to report back on 30th June 2024.

This change may require adjustments to planned activities and schedules.

The Principal Secretary of Education, Dr. Belio R. Kipsang, CBS, has directed all County Directors of Education to communicate this circular to all Head Teachers and Principals of schools under their jurisdiction.

“You are therefore directed to communicate the content of this circular to all Head Teachers and Principals of schools under your jurisdiction,”Ps directed.

This change in the Half-Term dates aims to ensure a smooth transition and minimize any further disruptions to the academic calendar.

It is important for all educational stakeholders to be aware of and adhere to these revised dates.

The Ministry of Education remains committed to providing quality education and maintaining the integrity of the academic system in Kenya.
