DCI arrest two suspects, Recovering 132 Bales of Bang

Directorate of Criminal Investigation has crack down illegal drugs in Mwingi,seizing 132 bales of bhang from a truck along the Garissa-Thika Road.

The operation led to the arrest of two suspects, Daniel Yohana and Ismail Wako,

who were identified as the driver and co-driver of the truck.

The joint operation team conducted an intelligence-led operation, where they initially found 28 bales on the roof cabin of the vehicle.

Upon further investigation, they discovered a hidden compartment beneath the false bottom of the truck,

where an additional 104 bales were stashed.

To avoid suspicion, the truck was also carrying 31 mattresses, which the driver claimed to be delivering to customers.

Therefore,the suspects have been taken into custody at Muthaiga Police Station,

while the seized bhang is being secured for weighing and sampling.

In a separate operation at Fedha Estate in Nairobi,

A 51-year-old woman named Mary Adhiambo Opollo and her associate Charles Kimani Wanjiku, 24-

were arrested for their involvement in drug trafficking.

Acting on a tip-off, the authorities found sachets of heroin weighing 650g in their residence at Fedha Heights apartment.

Consequently,The suspects were then escorted to Muthaiga Police Station for further processing and arraignment.

These successful operations were jointly conducted by the Anti-Narcotics and Operations Support Units of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The seizure of such a large quantity of bhang and the arrest of multiple suspects demonstrate the efforts being made to curb the drug trade in the region.

The DCI’s Anti-Narcotics Unit continues to work diligently to disrupt drug trafficking networks and bring the perpetrators to justice.
