Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has calledout security organs to deal with the Mungiki group which he says is making a comeback in Central Kenya.
Speaking during the funeral service of Mercy Wairimu the mother of the former MP, Peter Wairimu yesterday in Mathira Nyeri county, the DP assured the public that the government will not tolerate the presence of the Mungiki group.
“I want to tell women not to worry. We cannot allow that group to come back and disturb women. They have started coming back to disturb business people,” the DP said during his speech.
The DP erupted his fury towards the security organs stressing that people should not protect themselves yet the security organs hold the responsibility of protecting people and their businesses.
“I have told the county commander that he should protect the people. Protect people and businesses,” the DP said.
“Can you make sure that people can do their work without disturbance from those young men and you follow the law and protect the people,” he added.
