Detectives are diligently searching for a man suspected of committing a gruesome murder that has left the nation in shock.
The victim, a 25-year-old woman, was discovered brutally mutilated on Sunday, January 14.
Preliminary findings suggest that the murder may have taken place elsewhere before the body was transported to the scene.
Astonishingly, the Airbnb room leased by the main suspect was found impeccably clean, devoid of any traces of blood.
Investigators believe that the suspect used a hacksaw to dismember the woman’s body, although her head remains missing.
Currently, two individuals, including the woman who rented out the Airbnb room, are in police custody.
However, authorities are facing challenges in tracing the main suspect as he paid for the services in cash.
Nevertheless, with the help of CCTV footage and phone triangulation, detectives have managed to place the suspect in the Ruaka area of Kiambu County.
It appears that the suspect has been staying in this area for several days.
On Monday, January 15, the police requested surveillance footage from various buildings as part of their ongoing investigation.
Additionally, the victim’s identity remains unknown.
To shed light on this mystery, investigators have collected fingerprints from the deceased’s fingers and forwarded them to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Forensic Laboratory.
