Jubilee Party Secretary General Claims UDA Losing Popularity in Mt Kenya
Jubilee Party Secretary General, Jeremiah Kioni, claims United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is losing popularity in Mt Kenya.
During an interview with Spice FM, Kioni stated voters won’t support Ruto’s re-election in 2027.
Kioni believes Mt Kenya residents are disappointed with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
He emphasized that the people of Mt Kenya, who make up almost 100 per cent of the region’s population, have had enough.
“The people who will force Ruto out is Mt Kenya, as almost 100 per cent of people from Mt Kenya have said enough is enough,” said Kioni.
According to Kioni, Mt Kenya voters initially supported the Kenya Kwanza government –
but experienced election rigging in 2022.
He alleged UDA manipulated votes from the region due to compromised Jubilee party agents.
“Voters from the region voted for Ruto but Mt Kenya was also heavily used to rig elections in 2022,” he said.
However, Kioni assured that Jubilee party, with assistance from residents, would ensure no votes are stolen in the 2027 elections.
More genuine party agents will volunteer to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process in the Mt Kenya region.
“This time round, more genuine party agents will volunteer to ensure no votes are stolen during the 2027 elections,
therefore nobody will rig votes again from Mt Kenya,” Kioni explained.
“Even if William takes the role of Chebukati, no votes will be stolen from Mt Kenya in 2027.”
Kioni’s remarks emerged amidst discussions surrounding the selection of a kingpin.
He therefore added that this will determine the best running mate for President Ruto in 2027.
Some politicians believe DP Rigathi Gachagua is the most suitable candidate,
while others advocate for Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro as the Mt Kenya kingpin.
Additionally, Kioni’s statements about UDA’s waning popularity in Mt Kenya have sparked political debates.
As the 2027 elections approach, residents and political leaders aim to protect their votes and have a strong representative in national politics.
