Harambee stars junior team are set to face counterparts Uganda in CECAFA U18 championship finals.
This follows their qualifications to the finals after trashing Tanzania 4-3 in penalty shoot out on Tuesday.
Uganda U18 national team are also gearing up to face hosts Kenya in the final of the CECAFA U18 Boys Championship.
The highly anticipated match is scheduled to take place at 2:30pm tomorrow Friday 8th December 2023 at the Jomo Kenyatta Mambo Leo Stadium in Kisumu.
Kenya has been a dominant throughout the tournament, in the group stage with an unbeaten record.
Junior stars coach Salim Babu addressing journalists in Kisumu on Thursday morning, said the moment is here to finish the job in style.
“We are ready for the final. I had told you that we needed to qualify for the final first before we could plan on how to win it. Now we are in the final and we feel ready,” said Babu.
“In the semi-final, Tanzanians came knowing our game and defended well, also covering spaces and we really had to toil in slaying them,” he added.
“But you know their game differs from the Uganda’s style, so our approach will be different too from what we exhibited in the semi-final,” noted Babu.
“We will attack from the start, get an early goal so that we can enjoy playing the game,”.
