DCI officers have surrounded Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s official residence in Milimani estate, Meru County.
This action comes as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of blogger Daniel Muthiani, also known as Sniper.
The DCI officers used yellow tape to cordon off the area.
In a recent development, the DCI officers have requested permission to detain five additional suspects in the murder case.
Among the five, two are Governor Mwangaza’s son and brother, who also served as her bodyguard.
The DCI has asked for the suspects to be held for 21 days at the Muthaiga Police Station to facilitate their investigation.
The application has been submitted to the Kiambu Magistrate Court.
The five suspects were apprehended on January 4th in Meru County and were subsequently booked into various police stations in Kiambu and Nairobi County.
Therefore, the application states that the accused lured the Meru blogger into a meeting under false pretenses with Governor Mwangaza, whom he had been publicly criticizing.
It is alleged that she wanted to reach an agreement with him.
What happened?
Tragically, the blogger went missing after leaving his house in Igembe South to meet the five suspects in Meru town.
A funeral service was held on January 5th for the blogger,
