Kenya to Send 2,500 Nurses to Saudi Arabia in Skilled LaborEffort

Kenya on friday announced its plan to send 2,500 nurses to work in Saudi Arabia as part of a collaborative effort to enhance skilled labor cooperation between the two nations.

Mary Muthoni Muriuki, the principal secretary of the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards in the Ministry of Health, expressed the significance of this move, stating that,

“The decision to export medical officers to work in Saudi Arabia follows a request from Abdal Human Resources Company in Riyadh, the designated recruitment agency in Saudi Arabia.”

“This is an advancement of international relations in the health sector through a mutually beneficial collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,”PS noted.

To secure these job opportunities, interested nurses are required to submit their applications through the Ministry of Health.

Muriuki emphasized the importance of meeting the healthcare standards and requirements of Saudi Arabia, saying,

“Applicants are requested to share their documentation indicating that they underwent nursing training.”

“The selection process will prioritize highly qualified professionals, further highlighting Kenya’s commitment to providing skilled individuals for international healthcare needs,”PS Muriuki said.

CS added that this initiative not only attests to the global recognition of the Kenyan healthcare workforce-

but also serves as a bridge to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Kenya and Saudi Arabia.

The government is dedicated to supporting the candidates throughout the process,

including facilitating cultural exchange and professional development resulting from this opportunity.

Shortlisted applicants will be informed of the interview dates, and those who are successful will receive-

pre-deployment training and assistance in processing the necessary travel documents.

In order to be eligible for the nursing positions in Saudi Arabia, Kenyan nurses must meet certain requirements.

These include providing a complete CV with details such as age, weight, and height.

They should have a comprehensive record of their educational background-

including verified copies of diploma certificates and nursing degrees.

Additionally, applicants must demonstrate work experience after passing licensing examinations and provide certifications for any medical training they have undergone, such as

-Basic Life Support (BLS),

-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS),

-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Attendance records of symposiums and a copy of the applicant’s passport, if available, should also be included.

To ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process, the Ministry of Health has selected two recruiting agencies,

Fast Reliable Enterprises and Nasmama Services Limited,

Based on their outstanding track record and capacity to appropriately match skills with requirements.

The government assures Kenyans that their safety will be prioritized while working in a foreign land.

The PS reaffirmed that, “This initiative not only attests to the global recognition of the Kenyan healthcare workforce –

but also serves as a bridge to further strengthen the bilateral relations between Kenya and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
