Nanny Roseline ‘Rosie’ capture hearts with emotional farewell

Kenyan nanny Roseline ‘Rosie’ Atieno has captured the hearts of people worldwide with her emotional farewell to the four children she cared for in Lebanon.

Rosie, who hails from Siaya County, recently opened up about her life, revealing the difficult journey that led her to work in the Arab country.

Rosie explained that she had been separated from her own children for two years and she was overwhelmed with mixed emotions when she finally reunited with her family.

“I cried because I had mixed feelings about meeting my children after two years and leaving the children I had taken care of for two years who treated me like their parent,” Rosie shared in a heartfelt interview.

She went on to explain the circumstances that led her to leave Kenya and her three children behind in 2021.

Rosie revealed that she had left a troubled marriage and embarked on a journey to Lebanon in search of better opportunities to provide for her children.

“I left in October 2021, and at that time, I was in a marriage that was not working, and I decided to go there and find greener pastures to give my children a good life,” she bravely expressed.

Despite her initial fears, Rosie prayed for a good family, and her prayers were answered when she met the Lebanese family at the airport.

There was an immediate connection with the children and their mother, and Rosie described them as “good people” who are well-known content creators in Lebanon.

“The first experience with the family, when we met at the airport, the mother of the children just said ‘wow’ when she saw me. We clicked from day one,” Rosie fondly recalled.

Rosie cherished her time with the children, as they filled the void of missing her own children.

She expressed deep affection for them and even extended an invitation for the Lebanese family to visit Kenya and meet her children.

When asked about her stay in Lebanon, Rosie revealed, “I felt like I was at home. The only difference is that they pay me. The children appreciated me for who I am.”

Despite her positive experience, Rosie has not set a date for her return to Lebanon.

She intends to continue working with the family until the children are a little older.

In recognition of Rosie’s extraordinary dedication, Expeditions Maasai Safaris has offered a token of appreciation by booking her family for a tour of the Masai Mara.

Pancras Karema, spokesperson for Expeditions Maasai Safaris, expressed admiration for Rosie’s spirit and the impact she makes every day.

“We believe in celebrating people like Rosie whose dedication and kindness inspire us.This trip to the Masai Mara is a small gesture to honor her incredible spirit,” Karema stated.
