Kenyans to freely access national parks, museums on Jamhuri day

Tourism and wildlife cabinet secretary Alfred Mutua, has announced that all Kenyan citizens will have free entry to all National parks and museums across the country on Jamhuri day.

The CS said this in preparation for the upcoming Jamhuri Day next Tuesday, which marks 60 years of Kenyan independence.

“In commemorating our 60th year of independence, the Government proudly announces free entry for Kenyan citizens to all national parks and museums on Jamhuri Day, December 12, 2023,” said the CS on his X account.

He said that this initiative is in line with the collective pride in being a Kenyan.

Mutual further urged all citizens to have a form of identification and children be accompanied by guardians who possess identification proof.

“This initiative aligns with our collective pride in being Kenyan and our desire for everyone to relish the gifts bestowed upon us by nature,” said the CS.

“Proof of identification is required for Kenyan citizens, with children accompanying parents or guardians who possess identification proof.,” added the CS

He also urged the public to Comply with staff’s guidance at entry points and if the facility reaches its full capacity.
