Kindiki says government keen on neutralizing security in Lamu

Interior Cabinet secretary Kithure Kindiki has said the government is keen on neutralizing security situation in Lamu County to reduce threats posed by terrorists, extremist ideologies and other criminals.

On his X handle, Kindiki noted the significant progress made by the Multi-Agency Operation Linda Boni, commending the patriotic sacrifices of the officers.

Further, Kindiki also said that additional security facilities have been set up to enhance security in Marafa, Widho, Juhudi, Salama and adjacent areas.

“In light of the ongoing El-Nino rains, several security facilities will be rehabilitated and others repositioned to ensure maximum vantage against criminal elements,” said kindiki.

Additionally, CS kindiki observed that continous engagement with communities to build their confidence with security agencies remains the government’s priority.

Kindiki further said that a crackdown has been ordered for investigations, arrest and prosecution of all those using social media and other media to incite the public.
