Kisii residents now want Governor Simba Arati’s deputy to resign

Kisii residents now want Governor Simba Arati’s deputy to resign after allegedly defecting to UDA party.

They accused the deputy Governor Robert Monda of collaborating with UDA leaders in the region to scuttle Governor Arati’s leadership.

The residents condemned the deputy governor’s move of dining with their political enemies and betraying his boss.

This comes after the deputy governor had a meeting on Saturday with UDA leadership from kisii including, majority chief whip Sylvanus Osoro, Japhet Nyakundi, Dorice Aburi, Richard Onyonka, Daniel Manduku and ward reps who had abandoned Arati.

Further, the Saturday meeting took close to four hours shortly after Onyonka, Osoro and Toto castigated Arati for failing the electorate with empty promises since he was elected into office.

Senator Onyonka who earlier had agreed to spit out bad blood between Monda and Arati went silent.

Dozens of residents from various Wards spread across Nyaribo Masaba and Nyaribari Chache said Monda’s political move does not carry their blessings.

“As the residents we are sad that he has joined detractors who are fighting the governor and we want to distance ourselves from the move,” stated Melzedeck Ratemo, who read the statement on behalf of kisii residents.

Monda, they added, made a personal move that has no blessings from them.

“As a people we reiterate our support for the governor and his development agenda for the people of Kisii,” added Ratemo.

Kisii residents further asked leaders Osoro, Onyonka, Toto and now Monda to give Arati the peace he needs to fulfill his mandate to his people.
