KUCCPS Announces 69 Universities placement Slots

Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced that a total of 69 universities have declared placement Slots.

Among others include the Open University of Kenya, three Secondary Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs), 226 public TVET colleges, and 86 Kenya Medical Training Colleges (KMTC) campuses, have declared placement slots for the 2024/2025 placement cycle.

This is good news for the 2023 KCSE candidates as they are eligible to apply for degree and TVET programs.

However, candidates from the year 2000 to 2023 can only apply for TVET courses. The KMTC programs are specifically targeting KCSE Examination cohorts from 2014 to 2023.

To ensure that students are well-informed about the available programs and can make informed choices,

KUCCPS will be conducting an awareness, sensitization, and application mobilization campaign.

Therefore, this campaign will cover 262 centers throughout the country,

including 210 training institutions and 52 Huduma Centers.

Ezekiel Machogu, CS Education, emphasized the importance of this campaign in helping students select programs of their choice.

The 2023 KCSE cohort is set to benefit from the new Higher Education Funding Model introduced last year.

This model aims to ensure that needy students receive adequate funding to pursue tertiary education.

Machogu highlighted the significance of this model in supporting students in their academic journey.

In order to reach as many form four leavers as possible and assist them in submitting their applications,

Machogu has directed KUCCPS to collaborate with the Higher Education Loans Board, the Universities Fund.

However, this collaborative effort will ensure that all eligible students are given the necessary assistance to apply for their desired programs.

Machogu further stated, “I direct KUCCPS to work with the Higher Education Loans Board, the Universities Fund, other relevant partners,

and state organs in a multi-agency approach to ensure that as many form four leavers as possible are reached and assisted to submit their applications.”

These initiatives by KUCCPS and the government aim to provide equal opportunities for all students and ensure that they have access to higher education.

With the available placement slots and the support provided,

students can now look forward to pursuing their desired programs and fulfilling their academic aspirations.
