The government will empower women and youths as it plan to doubles the resources available by matching their savings.
Speaking during the 14th Anniversary of Joyful Women Organization in Nairobi,President Ruto explained the goal of empowering members by cultivating a saving culture.
Ruto stated that he is looking forward to the day the government will borrow from the savings by Kenyans as opposed to debt from foreign.
“Instead of us paying interest to other countries,we will be paying it to our people so that we can grow Kenya,” Ruto stated.
He further lauded Mama Rachel’s commitment in empowering women in the country.
He said Joyful has enhanced financial inclusion making an important impact on the Bottom up Economic transformation Agenda.
” The organization has done much more,made greater stride and achieved significant impact throughout Kenya,” he added.
First lady Rachael Ruto stated that through banking,many women have build enterprises that have transformed their lives.
“Joyful Women Organization contributes to the economic empowerment of our members through financial inclusion,capacity building ,trade and market access and MSEs credits,” she said.
