Abduction and shooting Incident; Suspects arrested

Two suspects of Abduction were arrested yesterday after a member of the public reported to have seen  a minor with two men in a club, in Siaya county.

Upon receiving the information, the officers immediately rushed to the bar.

They therefore found two young girls, one aged 17 and a Form 4 student at Ngunya Secondary School, named Triza Awuor aged 25.

The two were consuming alcohol in the company of two men.

The individuals were promptly taken out of the bar for interrogation.

The two girls accompanied by one of the men were instructed to board the police  vehicle.

The other suspect, identified as Crispin Otieno Odhiambo, aged 39, was instructed to drive his Toyota Mark-X with registration number KBZ 780G to the police station, escorted by four police officers.

However,the suspect unexpectedly diverted towards Busia Road at high speed and threatened to harm the officers on board.

In response, Corporal Brian Kipyegon, fired a warning shot in the air to deter the suspect.

This action forced the driver off the road, eventually getting the vehicle stuck in a swampy area at Segere Junction.

The officers got assistance from their colligue after they were stacked.

The suspect was arrested and taken to police station.

Corporal Brian Kipyegon sustained minor head injuries when he was hit by the car’s rooftop during the high-speed drive.

Upon searching the car, a large metallic axe was discovered inside.

The vehicle was then towed and detained in the station for further investigation.

A progress report on the case is expected to follow.

Siaya Police Station is currently dealing with the incident.
