Two People Shot dead in Samburu by suspected Bandits

Atleast two people were on Friday evening shot dead by suspected bandit in sere olipi area , Samburu county.

The two are believed to have been shot when the bandits were associated with stealing livestock.

According to the residents,they found the two bodies along the road where they went on and reported the incidence to the police.

However, preliminary investigations showed that the 40-year-old man suffered gunshot wound on the chest,hips and legs –

while the 20- year-old woman suffered at her abdomen.

Therefore,the police took the bodies of the deceased to sub- Samburu county hospital awaiting postmortem examination.

Additionally, cabinet secretary for interior prof.Kithure kindiki on February,27 visited Samburu county-

where he assured that the security agencies will deal with banditry and ensure that security is embarked.

“As a prelude to new security measures to be announced to address pockets of insecurity within the Northern Rangelands,

held a routine operational review with Samburu County Security agency heads and Operation Maliza Uhalifu field commanders of formed up units along the Malaso Valley, at Maralal, Samburu County,” Kindiki said.

Morever, banditry have been a major problem facing the residents of Samburu, laikipia,and Baringo-

which needs to be addressed with immediate effect.
