Uganda came from behind to beat hosts Kenya 2-1 earlier to emerge the 2023 CECAFA U18 champions.
The final game was played at Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium, Kisumu.
Uganda was top in Group B with 6 points in the group that also comprised Tanzania, Zanzibar and South Sudan.
Kenya’s Junior Stars qualified for the semis on December 1, by seeing off Somalia 4-1 at the Bukhungu Stadium.
Despite emerging winners in a tightly contested match, Uganda head coach, Morley Byekwaso, admitted Kenya was a tough opponent.
“The Kenyan team proved to be a formidable opponent. We faced challenges in securing a goal in the first half,” said Byekwaso.
“We devoted significant effort to preparation leading up to today’s match, and I extend my gratitude to my players for the positive outcome,” he added.
However, it was a tightly-contested first-half encounter with no team really managing to create chances in each other.
